Meet Every Learner’s Needs: Redesigning Lessons

The first step in building a classroom that meets every learner’s needs is to design a lesson that engages all students, no matter their prior knowledge. Traditional, one-size-fits-all lessons often fail to challenge and support many learners, but Modern Classroom lessons - which feature digital direct instruction, collaborative practice, and Mastery Checks at key points - help all students succeed.

In this session, you will learn to:

  • Digitize your direct instruction, so that students can learn from you anytime, anywhere.

  • Use class time effectively, by providing targeted one-on-one and small-group instruction.

  • Assess and require mastery, with regular Mastery Checks and policies for revision and reassessment.

By the end, you’ll know exactly how to create a simple lesson that meets every learner’s needs.
