Donnie Whitten
Head of National Partnerships
Donnie Whitten has dedicated his career to serving schools, students and families through public education. He led Arkadelphia Public Schools in Arkansas for 11 years as superintendent, and spent a total of 24 years in education as a teacher, principal and district-level leader. Donnie also spent four years in EdTech helping school districts build their brand and better tell their stories using marketing and communication tools designed for school leaders. He currently serves as Head of National Partnerships at the Modern Classroom Project where he collaborates with school leaders across the country as an advocate for MCP's innovative instructional model.
Donnie earned his doctorate from the University of Arkansas and was named to Arkansas Business' 40 under 40 during his tenure as superintendent. In 2010, he collaborated with private community partners to launch the Arkadelphia Promise Scholarship, providing an opportunity for every Arkadelphia student to attend college after graduation. Donnie was subsequently selected to President Obama's ConnectED Future Ready White House Summit in 2014. On weekends, you’ll find him enjoying time on DeGray Lake in southwest Arkansas or watching his sons play football and baseball.
