Michael Hakkarinen (He/Him)
Partnerships Director
Michael Hakkarinen is an experienced classroom teacher, instructional technology specialist, and professional learning facilitator. Starting his career in Frederick County, Maryland with Frederick County Public Schools and Mount Saint Mary's University, Michael quickly learned that technology can be leveraged to meet the needs of all learners. Moving to Utah in 2013 Michael found opportunities to expand his experience with blended and digital learning at the Canyons School District, Utah Educators Network, and the Utah State Board of Education. As a Partnerships Director with the Modern Classrooms Project, Michael strives to support teachers, leaders, and districts to create the conditions for every student to develop mastery, autonomy, and purpose.
When not at work, you can probably find Michael lost somewhere in the Wasatch Mountains with his family skiing, cycling, or climbing.
